World Building vs Plot

Det vil måske lyde underligt for nogen, men det er en real diskussion for flere. Det at bygge en verden og det at bygge et plot er begge ting der kan tage rigtig meget tid. Derfor kan der komme en konflict imellem disse dele af forberedelser til spilsessioner.


Det kommer meget anpå hvilken type spil du laver. Under nogen omstændigheder vil plottet være meget vigtigerer end verden, mest fordi det er plottet der er vigtigt og verden skulle helst understøtte plottet. Derfor bliver plottet lavet først og derefter kommer verdenen.

På den anden side har vi så verdenen som bliver utrolig detaljeret, og man kan ofte miste overblikket over plottet grundet disse detaljer som kan "forstyre" plottet. Det sker mest hvis verdenen bliver lavet før plottet.

Årsagen til at jeg gerne vil tage dette op er fordi der er meget forskel fra GM til GM hvordan historier og plots bliver lavet, om det er på baggrund af en verden eller at man har en historie (plot) og man så laver en verden til at passe denne.

Man kan også en trejde (ret sjælden) retning, at fokuserer lige meget på begge ting.

Sidste retning vil jeg selv som relativ erfaren GM fraråde folk at tage fat i, improvisions senarier. Det kan være godt at styrke ens improviserings evner, men det er mest fordi der vil altid ske noget "uforudsigeligt" fra GM's synspunkit, og det er bedre at bruge sin improvisering til disse steder from for at kører hele senariet "on the go". Improvisering bliver hurtigt fanget af mere erfarende spillere og især GMs som spiller med, og kan være en forstyrende faktor for disse spillere.
Dertil sagt er et FAST manuskrift for hele plottet næsten lige så forstyrende, spillere vil generelt gerne have en frihed til at gøre forskellige ting som måske ikke lige passer ind i dit billed og det kan virke forstyrrende hvis det ikke bliver til en mulighed.
